Pss.1
[1] Blessed is
the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way
of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
[3] And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that
bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and
whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

[1] Hear me when
I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in
distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.
[3] But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself:
the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
[4] Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your
bed, and be still. Selah.
[7] Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their
corn and their wine increased.
[8] I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only
makest me dwell in safety.

[1] Give ear to
my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
[4] For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither
shall evil dwell with thee.
[5] The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of
iniquity.
[8] Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make
thy way straight before my face.
[11] But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them
ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy
name be joyful in thee.
[12] For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou
compass him as with a shield.

[2] Have mercy
upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.
[10] Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and
be ashamed suddenly.

[1] O Lord my
God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and
deliver me:
[8] The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my
righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
[9] Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish
the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
[10] My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
[11] God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every
day.
[17] I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will
sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.

Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above
the heavens.
[3] When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and
the stars, which thou hast ordained;
[9] O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

[1] I will praise
thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
[2] I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name,
O thou most High.
[8] And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister
judgment to the people in uprightness.
[9] The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times
of trouble.
[10] And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou,

[18] For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the
poor shall not perish for ever.

[2] The wicked in
his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they
have imagined.
[3] For the wicked boasteth of his heart's desire, and blesseth the covetous,
whom the LORD abhorreth.
[4] The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek
after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
[5] His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his
sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
[6] He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never
be in adversity.
[7] His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue
is mischief and vanity.
[8] He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret
places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.
[9] He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to
catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.
[10] He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his
strong ones.
[11] He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face;
he will never see it.
[12] Arise, O LORD; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.
[13] Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart,
Thou wilt not require it.
[14] Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to
requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the
helper of the fatherless.
[15] Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his
wickedness till thou find none.
[16] The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of
his land.
[17] LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare
their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
[18] To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the
earth may no more oppress.

[1] In the LORD
put I my trust: How say ye to my soul, Flee as a bird to your mountain?
[2] For, lo, the wicked bend their bow, they make ready their arrow upon
the string, that they may privily shoot at the upright in heart.
[5] The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth
violence his soul hateth.
[6] Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an
horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.
[7] For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth
behold the upright.

flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.
[3] The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that
speaketh proud things:
[5] For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now
will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at

[1] Judge me, O
LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD;
therefore I shall not slide.
[3] For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy
truth.
[4] I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with
dissemblers.
[5] I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with
the wicked.
[6] I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar,
O LORD:
[7] That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all
thy wondrous works.
[9] Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men:
[10] In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.
[11] But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be
merciful unto me.

[1] The LORD is
my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my
life; of whom shall I be afraid?
[2] When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat
up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
[6] And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about
me: I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.
[11] Teach me thy way, O LORD, and lead me in a plain path, because of
mine enemies.
[12] Deliver me not over unto the will of mine enemies: for false
witnesses are risen up against me, and such as breathe out cruelty.
[14] Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine
heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

[1] Unto thee
will I cry, that go down into the pit.
[3] Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity,
which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.
[4] Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness
of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them
their desert.
[6] Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my
supplications.
[7] The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and
I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I
praise him.
[8] The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his
anointed.

[1] Give unto the
LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
[2] Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in
the beauty of holiness.
[3] The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory
thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
[4] The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of
majesty.

[1] I will extol
thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice
over me.
[2] O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
[10] Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper.
[11] Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off
my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;
[12] To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be

LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy
righteousness.
[3] For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake
lead me, and guide me.
[4] Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou
art my strength.
[5] Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD
God of truth.

[15] My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies,
and from them that persecute me.
[16] Make thy face to shine upon thy servant: save me for thy mercies'
sake.
[17] Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee: let the
wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.
[18] Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things
proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.
[21] Blessed be the LORD: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in
a strong city.
[22] For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes:
nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto
thee.
[23] O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the
faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
[24] Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that
hope in the LORD.

[10] Many sorrows
shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass
him about.
[11] Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy,
all ye that are upright in heart.

[1] Rejoice in
the LORD, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.
[2] Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an
instrument of ten strings.
[3] Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise.
[4] For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in
truth.
[5] He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the
goodness of the LORD.
[6] By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of
them by the breath of his mouth.
[7] He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up
the depth in storehouses.
[14] From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants
of the earth.
[15] He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.
[20] Our soul waiteth for the LORD: he is our help and our shield.
[21] For our heart shall rejoice in him, because we have trusted in his
holy name.
[22] Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, according as we hope in thee.

[1] I will bless
the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
[2] My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear
thereof, and be glad.
[3] O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
[4] I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my
fears.
[5] They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not
ashamed.
[6] This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of
all his troubles.
[8] O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that
trusteth in him.
[12] What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he
may see good?
[13] Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.
[14] Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
[15] The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open
unto their cry.
[16] The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the
remembrance of them from the earth.
[17] The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of
all their troubles.
[18] The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth
such as be of a contrite spirit.
[21] Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall
be desolate.

[1] Plead my
cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight
against me.
[4] Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let
them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.
[7] For without cause have they hid for me their net in a pit, which
without cause they have digged for my soul.
[11] False witnesses did rise up; they laid to my charge things that I
knew not.
[12] They rewarded me evil for good to the spoiling of my soul.
[14] I behaved myself as though he had been my friend or brother: I
bowed down heavily, as one that mourneth for his mother.
[15] But in mine adversity they rejoiced, and gathered themselves
together: yea, the abjects gathered themselves together against me, and I knew
it not; they did tear me, and ceased not:
[16] With hypocritical mockers in feasts, they gnashed upon me with
their teeth.
[17] Lord, how long wilt thou look on? rescue my soul from their destructions,
my darling from the lions.
[18] I will give thee thanks in the great congregation: I will praise
thee among much people.
[19] Let not them that are mine enemies wrongfully rejoice over me:
neither let them wink with the eye that hate me without a cause.
[20] For they speak not peace: but they devise deceitful matters against
them that are quiet in the land.
[24] Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let
them not rejoice over me.
[25] Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them
not say, We have swallowed him up.
[26] Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice
at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify
themselves against me.

[3] The words of
the wicked are iniquity and deceit.
[4] He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that
is not good; he abhorreth not evil.
[5] Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth
unto the clouds.
[6] Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a
great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
[7] How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children
of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
[9] For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see
light.
[10] O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy
righteousness to the upright in heart.
[11] Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of
the wicked remove me.

[1] Fret not
thyself because of evildoers.
[3] Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and
verily thou shalt be fed.
[4] Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires
of thine heart.
[5] Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring
it to pass.
[6] And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy
judgment as the noonday.
[7] Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him.
[8] Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to
do evil.
[9] For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD,
they shall inherit the earth.
[11] But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves
in the abundance of peace.
[12] The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with
his teeth.
[13] The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.
[14] The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to
cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.
[16] A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of
many wicked.
[21] The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous
sheweth mercy, and giveth.
[23] The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth
in his way.
[24] Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD
upholdeth him with his hand.
[25] I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
[26] He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
[27] Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
[30] The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom.
[35] I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a
green bay tree.
[36] Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he
could not be found.
[37] Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that
man is peace.
[40] And the LORD shall help them and deliver them: he shall deliver
them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

[19] But mine
enemies are lively, and they are strong: and they that hate me wrongfully are
multiplied.
[20] They also that render evil for good are mine adversaries; because I
follow the thing that good is.
[21] Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
[22] Make haste to help me, O Lord my salvation.

[7] And now,
Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in thee.
[8] Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of
the foolish.

[4] Blessed is
that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such
as turn aside to lies.
[5] Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done.
[9] I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have
not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
[11] Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy
lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
[14] Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul
to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
[16] Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee.

[1] Blessed is he
that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
[5] Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name
perish?
[7] All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they
devise my hurt.
[8] An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he
lieth he shall rise up no more.
[9] Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of
my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
[11] By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not
triumph over me.
[12] And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me
before thy face for ever.

[8] The LORD will
command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be
with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

[1] God is our
refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
[2] Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though
the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
[3] Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains
shake with the swelling thereof.
[9] He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the
bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire.

[10] For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish

[16] Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his
house is increased;
[17] For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not

[1] The mighty
God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the
sun unto the going down thereof.
[4] He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth.
[10] For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a

field are mine.

unto me, O God: for man would swallow me up; he fighting daily oppresseth me.

[3] What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
[4] In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will
not fear what flesh can do unto me.
[6] They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my
steps, when they wait for my soul.
[9] When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I
know; for God is for me.
[11] In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do
unto me.
[12] Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
[13] For thou hast delivered my soul from death: wilt not thou deliver
my feet from falling, that I may walk before God in the light of the living?

[1] Be merciful
unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the
shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
[2] I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for
me.
[5] Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above
all the earth.
[9] I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee
among the nations.
